Contractors Classifications
The Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi has developed an online registration system (MePS) for Contractors and Engineering Consultants Classification in line with Abu Dhabi’s vision for sustainable development, which is based on solid infrastructure and continuous urban development.
The purpose of the Contractors Classification registration in Abu Dhabi is to review the companies’ experiences, competencies, and capabilities in order to ensure the quality of project performance. Companies must document their experience and qualifications to meet the criteria for the category in which they wish to be classified. Only companies that have been classified are eligible to participate in government projects that are related to the classified activity.
There are two different types of classifications:
- Contracting Companies Classification in Abu Dhabi.
- Local Contractors are allowed for six categories for classifying activities.
- Foreign Contractors Branches are allowed for the special category only.
- Engineering Consultancy Companies Classification in Abu Dhabi.
- Local Engineering Firms are allowed for three categories for classifying activities.
- Foreign Engineering Firms Branches are allowed for the special category only.
